To say I have been busy would be an understatement. It has been a whirlwind since releasing my new album, The Cowboy Way. The words ‘thank you’ just aren’t enough to show my gratitude to everyone who showed up for the release parties, the DJs who have shared the music and everyone who helped out with the recording and promotion of the CD. This project took a team and I will never forget that.
I want to say a special thank you to The Queen of Bluegrass, Rhonda Vincent. She is the hardest working woman in music. But she still made time to record some outstanding vocal tracks for the duet, For Awhile. I am getting all kinds of wonderful notes and radio play on that song thanks to her taking the song up a notch. I was honored to sing with Rhonda. She is a great person and phenomenal talent.
And a shout-out to David McCormick for spotlighting the The Cowboy Way album inside the historic Ernest Tubb Record Shop and featuring the CD on the Midnite Jamboree through August.
August is filled up with some exciting shows. I will be performing this year at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame inductions in Carthage, Texas. I cannot even tell you how proud I will be that night as my wife, Jennifer Herron, is inducted as the first woman DJ into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. The event is open to the public, so come help us congratulate her!
I am also back at the Smoky Mountain Songwriters’ Festival for the third year. The top songwriters gather here. It is special to perform, but I enjoy being a fan. These guys and gals are so creative. I am in awe. Check out the appearance page for my schedule. It is a great weekend getaway to the charming town of Gatlinburg in the Smoky Mountains. It is the perfect backdrop for the stories and music, oh and the fun jam sessions.
I have shows later in the year with Mark Chesnutt and Leona Williams as well. For the most up-to-date information on shows and the music, be sure to checkout my Facebook page at Bobby Marquez Music.
